Alistair Rowland has over 35 years of experience in the retail industry. Alistair began their career in 1984 as a Branch Manager at Currys Limited. In 1987, they moved on to become a Superstore General Manager at Dixons Retail. In 1989, they joined United Co-operatives as a General Manager - Non Food and a General Manager - Electrical Retail. In 1998, they became the Director of Retail Development at First Choice Holidays - part of TUI PLC, where they were responsible for the 'Holiday Hypermarket' concept. In 2001, they returned to United Co-operatives as a General Manager - Retail Distribution. In 2006, they moved to the Co-operative Travel Group as the Group Director of Distribution, and also became the Group Managing Director of Future Travel Limited / The Freedom Travel Group. From 2011 to 2020, they were the Chief Retail Officer - Specialist Business and Group General Manager - Specialist Retail and Group General Manager - Travel Services at The Midcounties Co-operative. In 2020, they became the Group Chief Executive Officer at Blue Bay Travel.
Alistair Rowland's education history includes studying Business Administration at Staffordshire University, where they earned an NVQ5 (Degree Equivalent) in 1996. From 1982 to 1985, they attended Buxton College. In 2011, they began studying at Alliance Manchester Business School for a Programme for High Value Managers - Post Graduate. Alistair also holds a Diploma of Business Management - Post Graduate from Alliance Manchester Business School, which they obtained in 1996 for studying Business Administration and Management, General.
