Derk Pelton

Derk Pelton has extensive work experience in various technology-related roles. Derk currently serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Blue Chip Group, a company specializing in dry foods production. In this role, they leverage their experience and capability to provide emerging and existing companies with complete ready-to-go production capabilities. Prior to this, Derk worked as the Director of Information Technology at Innovative Labs, a leader in single-serve foil packaging, where they diversified and extended operations to include conventional tube and bottle fill. Derk also worked at Carter Creek Services as the CIO / VP Professional Services / Lead Consultant, and at Grant Thornton LLP as the Transaction Services Director. Earlier in their career, Derk held positions such as the SMO Portfolio Director at GameStop, the Senior Delivery Exec at Hornbill North America, and the Director of Information Services at Carter BloodCare. Derk also served as the Director, Global Technology at Chiquita Brands International and the Director, IT at Fresh Express. Derk'sexperience also includes working as the Sr Dir Program Management / Business Process at 360networks, where they managed IT planning, project management, and operations support for a global Tier I Optical Broadband provider. Throughout their career, Derk has demonstrated their ability to deliver visionary and technical leadership, implement information security and technology plans, and manage IT budgets and portfolios.

Derk Pelton has a diverse education history. Derk obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1979 to 1983. Derk later pursued further education and completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington, which they attended from 2006 to 2007. In addition to their degrees, Derk Pelton has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. Derk obtained the ITIL Foundation Level certification from EXIN Group Ltd. in April 2006. In January 2019, they became a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) through Scrum Alliance. Most recently, in October 2019, they obtained the Scrum Fundamentals Certified and Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC) certifications, both from SCRUMstudy.
