Larry Franken

Larry Franken, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Population Health at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, overseeing population health programs focused on Care Management, Behavioral Health, Community Health, and Health Equity. Previously, Larry held various leadership positions at Humana, where responsibilities included leading the Central Region Innovation Program and directing Community Health initiatives. Larry's academic experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor at Cleveland University - Kansas City, teaching courses in health sciences. In public service, Larry was the Health Department Director for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS, and was recognized as the Kansas Public Health Champion of the Year in 2014. Larry holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Kansas State University, a Master of Science in Business Administration from Baker University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health Epidemiology from Walden University.
