Razia Hashmi

Razia Hashmi is currently serving as Vice President of Clinical Affairs at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, starting in October 2023. With extensive experience as a Physician Surveyor at NCQA since 2013, Razia has demonstrated expertise in managed care organizations and quality improvement standards. Prior to the current role, Razia held various leadership positions at Elevance Health (formerly Anthem Inc.) from 2005 to June 2023, including Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, where oversight of a large team and a substantial budget facilitated population health improvement for over 16 million members. Additionally, Razia's prior roles included significant positions at CIGNA Healthcare and Mount Sinai Beth Israel, showcasing a strong background in clinical operations, medical management, and health policy. Razia holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBBS from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.
