Darren R. Deering

Darren R. Deering, D.O. has an extensive work experience history. Starting in 1999 as a Medical Intern at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, they went on to serve as a Resident Physician and Chief Resident Physician at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they worked as an Academic Pediatric Hospitalist at Phoenix Children's Hospital in 2004 and then as the Chief of Staff/Chief Medical Officer at Phoenix VA Health Care System from 2005 to 2016. In 2017, they joined Banner Health as the Medical Director of Care Coordination before transitioning to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona in 2018. At Blue Cross Blue Shield, they have held multiple roles, including Corporate Medical Director, Commerical Line of Business, and their current role as Staff Vice President, Senior Medical Director - Commercial Business Segment. In these positions, they have focused on enhancing collaboration, developing and implementing guidelines, and driving innovative healthcare strategies.

Dr. Darren R. Deering, D.O. graduated from Truman State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. From 1995 to 1999, they attended A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, specializing in Osteopathic Medicine/Osteopathy. In 2014, Dr. Deering obtained certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
