Deanna Salazar

Deanna Salazar has a strong background in law and administration. Deanna began their career at Lewis Roca as an Associate in 1991 and later became a Partner. In 1996, they joined Wells Fargo as Vice President and Senior Counsel. In 1998, they moved to Employee Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Counsel before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona in 1999. At Blue Cross Blue Shield, they held various roles, including Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Development, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, and Chief Administration Officer and General Counsel. Deanna provided legal advice and guidance on matters such as risk assessment, contracting, regulatory compliance, and litigation management. Salazar also oversaw legislative activities, community service initiatives, and the office of corporate ombudsman. Deanna remained with Blue Cross Blue Shield until at least June 2019.

Deanna Salazar holds a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Adams State University. Deanna is also a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Colorado State Bar.
