Sonja Nelson

Sonja Nelson is an experienced healthcare executive with a focus on strategic development and partnership cultivation. Currently serving at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona in the Transformation Office, Sonja leads partnership development efforts and acts as a key advisor to executive leadership. Previous roles include Chief Strategy Officer at Abrazo Community Health Network, where strategic initiatives were designed to enhance community engagement, and various leadership positions at Banner Health, where expertise in planning, strategy, and performance evaluation was demonstrated. Sonja also contributed to academia as a Faculty Associate in the Master of Health Innovation program at Arizona State University. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Health Innovation from Arizona State University and a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix.
