Washington Covena is an experienced executive in the healthcare industry, currently serving as Staff Vice President of Commercial Verticals & Strategy at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona since October 2018. Prior roles include Director of Customer Verticals & Strategy and Strategic Relationship Executive at the same organization, where efforts focus on improving the health of Arizonans. Prior to joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Washington Covena held multiple leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group from June 1997 to June 2018, including Vice President of Public Sector and Labor and Director of Account Management.
