Leon Shao

Leon (Yongliang) Shao has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Leon (Yongliang) began their career as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL-FORTH) in 1988. From 1994 to 1996, they worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. Leon (Yongliang) then joined the University of Windsor, where they held various roles, including Research Associate and Distance Learning Consultant/Teaching Assistant. In 2000, Leon started working for Syndesis Limited as a Software Engineer for a few months before transitioning to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. At Blue Cross Blue Shield, they held multiple positions, including Senior Program Analyst Specialist, Senior Application Developer, Senior System Administrator (III), and currently serves as an IT Engineer Technical Lead. Leon (Yongliang) Shao obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University between 1980 and 1985. Leon (Yongliang) then pursued a Ph.D. in Laser and Atomic Physics at the Institute of Physics, Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1985 to 1987. From 1988 to 1993, Leon completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the University of Crete. Lastly, they obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Distributed Computing from the University of Windsor from 1998 to 2000.
