Susan L. Barkell

Susan L. Barkell is an experienced leader in the health care sector, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Health Care Value at BCBSM since April 1996. In this role, Susan collaborates with care providers to enhance the value delivered to customers and members, ensuring access to high-quality, efficient networks and care across Michigan. Prior to this position, Susan held the role of Vice President of Provider Services at the Michigan Osteopathic Association from August 1984 to April 1996, as well as the Director of Administration. Susan's educational background includes a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Economics, Accounting, and Finance from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
