Before entering the public sector, Laura gained experience in customer service and management roles. Laura worked as a Customer Service Rep at Hawaiian Tan from 1996 to 1998, where they provided exceptional customer service to current, new, and prospective customers. Laura also served as a Lead Desk Clerk/Acting Manager at Budgetel from 1996 to 1998, where they managed the front desk, oversaw housekeeping and maintenance, created employee schedules, performed nightly audits, and recruited and hired staff.

Laura Elvebak obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2000. Sometime after, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration from the same institution, which they have not yet completed as of the provided information. Additionally, Laura acquired a diploma in General Studies from Nicollet Public School, although the timeframe for this achievement is unknown.
