Chris Raitz – OSP Manager and Safety Coordinator

Chris Raitz is a seasoned Outside Plant Manager and Safety Coordinator with over 20 years of expertise in the telecommunications industry. With a deep understanding of fiber network deployment, infrastructure maintenance, and safety management, Chris has played a pivotal role in constructing and maintaining high-speed internet networks that serve over 2,000,000 customers.

Currently serving as the OSP Manager at Blue Mountain Networks, Chris leads fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), GPON, and XGS-PON network construction projects, ensuring seamless connectivity through strategic planning and execution. His extensive experience in blueprint interpretation, project scheduling, and workforce management has allowed him to drive efficiency and innovation in every project. Chris is also a certified safety and rescue trainer, equipping teams with the skills to handle pole climbing, bucket truck operations, and tower rescues safely.

Before joining Blue Mountain Networks, Chris honed his leadership and technical skills at TDS and Astound Broadband, where he managed system maintenance, fiber optic cabling, and network troubleshooting. He has a proven track record of supervising large-scale network builds, optimizing system reliability, and implementing robust safety protocols to ensure industry compliance.

Chris’s technical expertise extends to OSP FTTH deployment, fiber splicing, ingress troubleshooting, electrical instrumentation, and network infrastructure installation. His leadership abilities, combined with a commitment to safety and quality, have earned him numerous performance awards and certifications, including Senior Master Technician, Master Tech HFC Networks, and Emerging Leader recognition.

Outside of work, Chris is a dedicated family man, 3D printing enthusiast, and problem-solver who enjoys coding Raspberry Pi projects, outdoor activities like camping and hunting, and spending quality time with his six children. His ability to fix anything that’s broken and build things from scratch reflects his resourcefulness and passion for innovation.
