João Heron

João Heron has a diverse work experience in various technology-related roles. João most recently worked as a Data Engineer at Blue Orange Digital, a consulting firm specializing in data transformation and analytics solutions. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Engineer at Indicium Tech, where they were responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, developing applications for data observation, and leading the project development team.

Before their role at Indicium Tech, João worked as a Full Stack Developer at Substractum Tecnologia, where they developed new features for ongoing applications and designed and implemented full stack applications from scratch. João also worked as a Backend Software Developer at Oktoplus, a Brazilian startup, where they were responsible for retrieving information from loyalty programs APIs, building and deploying data pipelines.

Earlier in their career, João worked as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst at Laboratório Bridge, working on a project that developed software for the Ministry of Health. João also worked as a Software Developer at Implement Systems, where they developed bespoke systems using the FileMaker platform and provided maintenance for applications under contract.

Throughout their career, João has gained experience with various technologies and tools, including Python, Apache Airflow, Unix, Git, Bitbucket, Shell Script, Docker, and more.

João Heron's education history begins in 2013 when they enrolled at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. João pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sistemas de Informação and successfully completed their program in 2020.

In 2015, João participated in an exchange program at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where they studied Computer Science for a year until 2016.

In addition to their formal education, João has obtained several certifications. In November 2021, they received an Astronomer Certification for Apache Airflow Fundamentals from Astronomer. João further enhanced their skills in Apache Airflow by obtaining an Astronomer Certification in DAG Authoring in February 2022.

Moreover, João has also earned certifications related to dbt (data build tool). João acquired a dbt Developer certification from dbt Labs in December 2022 and a dbt Fundamentals certification from the same institution in November 2022. These certifications reflect their expertise and knowledge in using dbt for data transformations.
