Alan Carey

Alan Carey is an experienced engineer currently serving as a Cognizant Engineer for CC Structures at BLUE ORIGIN since September 2016, where responsibilities include program management for composite cabins, windows, metallic structures, and thermal protective systems. Previously, Alan held positions as a Structural Design Engineer for the New Shepard Crew Capsule's forward structure and a Mechanical Engineer at Davis Air Repair Inc., focusing on aircraft modifications. Alan's educational background includes a Master of Science in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Davis, a Space Suit Test Engineer intern at NASA Johnson Space Center, and a Finite Element Analyst intern at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
