Karsen Kitchen

Astronaut

Karsen Kitchen is a highly driven and enthusiastic leader with a bachelor's degree in communications and astronomy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They have recently served as a Space Educator at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and completed a hands-on research role at Green Bank Observatory. Karsen is the founder of Orbitelle, an initiative dedicated to inspiring young women to pursue careers in the space industry, and they are a member of the Brooke Owens Fellowship Class of 2025. In 2024, Karsen made history as the youngest woman to travel past the Kármán line with Blue Origin and is currently involved with various space initiatives including roles at NASA and as a Space Policy Analyst with the U.S. Department of State.
