Luke Shy

Luke Shy is a seasoned propulsion engineer with extensive experience primarily in aerospace design and engineering. Currently employed as a Propulsion Engineer III at Blue Origin since September 2021, Luke focuses on the design of the BE-4 engine. Prior to this role, Luke spent over 15 years at Boeing, where responsibilities ranged from structural design for various aircraft, including the 747, 767, 777, and 787, to developing solutions for production problems and leading design initiatives. An Ohio State University alumnus, Luke earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Additionally, Luke served as the Head Instructor for BOEALPS Intermediate Climbing Class from 2011 to 2013, showcasing leadership and organizational skills in a different context.
