Sam Moorhouse-McNerney

Sam Moorhouse-McNerney is a skilled Structural Engineer II at Blue Origin, contributing to the New Glenn Program since September 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Structural Design Engineer at Honda Aircraft Company from July 2022 to August 2025, focusing on the design of primary and secondary fuselage structures for the HondaJet Echelon, utilizing Catia V5 for detailed part and assembly designs. Previously, Sam worked as a Researcher at the UW Transformative Robotics Laboratory, where involvement in projects such as the Hollow Flex Shaft and Pentamode Project included mechanism optimization and prototype testing. Additional experience encompasses a role as a Thermal/Mechanical Design Engineer at Hydrobee SPC Inc., a Life Guard/Swim Instructor at the YMCA of Greater Seattle, and an internship at Aerojet Rocketdyne that involved designing a liquid oxygen fueled rocket. Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, completed in 2022.
