Sonja Zeigler

Sonja Zeigler currently serves as the Director of Specialty Engineering at Blue Origin, overseeing functional teams focused on electromagnetic effects, contamination control, and communications architecture since February 2019. Previously, Sonja held the role of Principal Electrical Systems Engineer, where responsibilities included leading the New Glenn EME team and establishing its lightning protection strategy. Prior experience includes serving as the Fuel Tank Explosion Prevention Sub-team Lead at Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, and fulfilling various electrical engineering roles at Boeing, including Electrical Engineering Lead for the USAF Refueling Tanker KC-46A program and for the 787 program. Sonja's career began as a Junior Electrical Engineer at Art Anderson Associates, providing power requirement designs for construction projects. Sonja holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Henry Cogswell College.
