Thomas Gibson

Thomas Gibson is a Fluids Design Engineer II specializing in Lunar Permanence at Blue Origin since October 2023, having previously held the role of Fluids Design Engineer in the same department. Prior experience includes a position as Launcher Mechanical Engineer at Astra from June 2022 to September 2023, where responsibilities included designing hardware for Launch System 3.0 and developing ground support systems for Rocket 4. Thomas also contributed as a Mechanical Engineer on the Cryogenic Tensile Tester Project at NASA, focusing on the design and fabrication of a low-cost tensile tester for cryogenic applications. Academic pursuits include research in observational astronomy at the University of Idaho, where data processing and machine learning optimization were key tasks, alongside a notable submission for NASA’s Lunar Delivery Challenge. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho and is pursuing a Technical Leadership certificate at the University of Washington.
