Mr. Adler has vast experience in the finance and solar industries from working at several investment banks and private equity firms.
Mr. Adler was the co-founder, director, and CEO of Sol-Wind, LLC, a firm that aggregated approximately $450 million of operating solar and wind renewable energy projects (185+ MWs), a pipeline of over 1.1 GW of solar projects across several jurisdictions (US, Japan, Canada, Mexico and the UK) and spearheaded providing over $100 million of financing (in the form of tax equity) for utility scale and distributed generation projects.
After Sol-Wind, Mr. Adler was the Head of Structured Finance for Solar Power Inc. and was responsible for leading the efforts to acquire a diversified portfolio of renewable energy projects in North America, the UK and Japan Mr. Adler lead the SPI team with a successful mandate for a credit facility of $300mm with CIT. Prior to founding Sol-Wind, Mr. Adler was the CEO of Southport Lane, a private equity firm specializing in the acquisition of insurance companies. Under Mr. Adler’s management, the firm acquired several insurance companies and grew AUM from 0 to over $500 million. Prior to Southport, Mr. Adler was the Global Head of Structured Finance for the Invention Development Fund at Intellectual Ventures, a private equity firm with over $6.5 billion in assets under management that specializes in intellectual property. Prior to Intellectual Ventures, Mr. Adler was a director in the Global Structured Products Group at Merrill Lynch.
Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Adler was a Vice President in the Structure Finance Group at Morgan Stanley and an associated director in the Structured Finance Group at Rabobank International (London Branch). Mr. Adler started his career as a tax advisor at Ernst & Young in 1993 and started the International Capital Markets Group at Ernst & Young in the UK in 1997.
Mr. Adler has a BA degree from Emory University, a JD from Case Western University and a Masters in Tax from New York University School of Law.
