Makala Perez

Makala Perez is a dedicated health professional with extensive experience in community health work. Currently serving as the Community Health Worker Coordinator at Blue Ridge Health since March 2021, Makala collaborates with the Vulnerable Population Manager to train and lead Community Health Workers in outreach and service delivery aimed at expanding healthcare access. Previously, as a Community Health Worker, Makala supported individuals experiencing homelessness by connecting them to essential services. Prior experience includes roles as an Emergency Room Technician and Rehabilitation Technician at Pardee UNC Health Care, as well as a Community Outreach Intern at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, where event planning and community health assessments were key responsibilities. Makala holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University, earned in 2016.
