Chris Wackerle

Chris Wackerle is a seasoned robotics software engineer with extensive experience, currently serving as the Principal Robotics Software Engineer at Blue River Technology since May 2022. Prior to this, Chris worked at Caterpillar Inc. from August 2008 to May 2022, holding various roles including Senior Software Engineer on the CAT Robotics team, where the focus was on task and motion planning, and enhancing the autonomy stack's reliability. Other notable positions at Caterpillar included team lead for the autonomous planning team and lead for the autonomous drill simulation and validation team. Chris also contributed as a Senior Research and Development Engineer and a Validation Engineer. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
