Shikiri Hightower-Gaskin

Communications Associate at Blue Shield of California Foundation

Shikiri Hightower-Gaskin is a communications associate at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this role, she develops and implements communication strategies internally and externally to further the goals and initiatives of the Foundation.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Shikiri served as the marketing manager to Shikiri, her namesake boutique in one of Los Angeles’s hippest shopping districts as well as Golden Butterfly boutique in Santa Monica. In 2013, Shikiri founded and worked as marketing manager at China Royal, a high-quality yet affordable luxury clothing brand. China Royal was featured in 2015 article, “50 Gift Ideas From 50 Black-Owned Businesses” for online publication, The Root. Shikiri also managed an educational foundation which provided scholarships, grants, and support to nourish the lives of teenage parents and their children.

Shikiri holds a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business, a Master of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Southern California. Shikiri brings her education, fashion entrepreneurship, marketing, and philanthropy experience to this role.
