Erica Newhouse is an experienced arts and community leader, currently serving as the Executive Director for Blue Star Families in NYC since May 2023 and as a Community Ambassador to The Secretary of the Navy since January 2022. Erica has a rich background in mentorship and education, holding a position as a Mentor at The Juilliard School since September 2009 and previously serving as a Faculty Member at Sarah Lawrence College until May 2018. Notably, Erica's tenure at Arts in the Armed Forces involved roles as Artistic Director, Program Director, and Program Manager from March 2017 to February 2023. Erica has also contributed to theater programs on military bases as an Actor with Theater of War and taught acting workshops at Larry Singer Studios. Erica's educational background includes degrees and certificates from prestigious institutions such as The Juilliard School, Sarah Lawrence College, the University of Pennsylvania, and École Jacques Lecoq.

Blue Star Families (BSF) is a national, nonprofit network by and for military families from all ranks and services, including active duty, National Guard and reserves. Blue Star Families strengthens military families and connects America to the military through a robust array of morale, empowerment, education and employment programs. Founded by military spouses in 2009, the organization has engaged tens of thousands of volunteers and served more than 1.5 million military family members annually, including wounded and transitioning service members and their loved ones.
