Dan Freedman has worked in the technology industry since 1996, beginning their career at McAfee as Vice-President of Security Products. In 2008, they joined Inovia Capital as Chairman of the Venture Investment Committee and a Venture Advisor, and in 2009 they joined TechCap Ventures, LLC as a Principal. From 2011 to 2013, Dan served on the screening committee for Hawaii Angels and was a Member of the Board of Directors for Flo Water from 2013 to 2014. Dan was also an Advisory Board Member for Wedge Networks Inc. from 2004 to 2013, and Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, Dan was Lead Mentor for Blue Startups LLC from 2013 to 2014, Chairman of the Board of Directors for AreaMetrics from 2014 to 2015, and a Member of the Advisory Board for LiveSift and Minded from 2014 to the present.

Dan Freedman's education history began in 1973 at Brighton College. Dan then attended Henry Wise Wood from 1980 to 1983. From 1983 to 1991, they studied at the University of Calgary, earning both a MSc and BSc in Computer Science. During their time at the University of Calgary, they also attended Mount Royal University from 1986 to 1988, where they obtained a Dip. Music Performance in Jazz Piano.
