Graham Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Graham began their career as a Mechanical Technician at Roger Hunt, John Deere Dealer, UK, where they worked from June 1982 to August 1985. Graham then moved on to Warwickshire College of Agriculture, where they served as a Farm Machinery Technician from August 1985 to April 1986.
In 1986, Graham joined John Deere and held various roles over the years. Graham worked as an Area Service Manager from April 1986 to September 1989 and later served as a Field Service Engineer from September 1989 to August 1998. During this time, they also took on the role of Marketing and Customer Support for IVT Project from August 1998 to April 2003. Graham then became the Manager Customer Support MW Tractors from April 2003 to February 2005, followed by the position of Divisional Marketing Manager, Waterloo Products, R2 from February 2005 to April 2007. From April 2007 to September 2010, Graham held the role of Manager Worldwide Tractor Planning and later became the Global Manager Tractor Platform Planning from September 2010 to November 2015. Graham then served as the Director Next Generation Tractors from November 2015 to December 2017, and finally as the Director, Tractor Portfolio Development and Strategic Growth Planning until their retirement in August 2020.
After their retirement, Graham started their own business called Sylvan Farm LLC in September 2019. As the Business Owner, they manage a 56-acre regenerative family farm, which includes a chestnut orchard, Katahdin sheep, chickens, bees, and corn. Graham focuses on practicing soil health building, agroforestry, and also runs an irrigated chestnut orchard and grazing program for the sheep.
More recently, in April 2021, Graham joined Field of Hope as a Member of the Board of Directors. Graham is currently contributing in this role. Additionally, they have also taken up the position of Director of Business Development at Bluewhite starting from March 2022.
Graham Thompson completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Agricultural Education at Iowa State University from 2020 to 2025. Prior to that, they attended Wiltshire College of Agriculture (Lackham) from 1981 to 1983, where they obtained a HTC degree in Agricultural Engineering. Additionally, from 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Management, but the specific degree and field of study are not provided.
