Nate Bessa

Nate Bessa is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and management, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Bluebird Kids Health since December 2024. Previously, Nate worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital since July 2012, where contributions included designing a physician productivity and billing dashboard. As Director of Engineering at Buoy Health from November 2020 to December 2024, Nate successfully directed an eight-person team and launched a widely used AI-driven symptom triage product. Other notable roles include co-founding Helpful, where Nate led the development of a social media platform, and serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Harvard Medical School, focusing on authentication microservices and healthcare data integration.
