Kevin O'Dea

Director - Engineering Services at BlueCrest

Kevin O'Dea has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Kevin started their career in 1982 as a Design Engineer at Harris Graphics Corporation. Kevin then joined Pitney Bowes in 1987 as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they played a key role in designing and developing a new family of tabletop mail processing machines and was granted 8 US patents. In 1992, they joined Black & Decker as a Manager in engineering, responsible for the Cleaning & Cooking Product Development Group. Kevin worked at Black & Decker until 1998 when they returned to Pitney Bowes as the Director of Mechanical Engineering. Kevin joined BlueCrest in 2018 as the Core Team Leader and Sr. Principal Engineer, leading the engineering group and addressing systemic challenges to improve business. In 2021, they became the Active Products Manager at BlueCrest, leading a multi-functional team focused on solidifying existing product platforms. Kevin is currently serving as the Director of Quality & Active Products Engineering at BlueCrest.

Kevin O'Dea earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, where they studied from 1978 to 1982. Kevin continued their education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1982 to 1987. Additionally, Kevin undertook further studies at Rensselaer at Work, where they obtained another Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1984 to 1988.
