Katie Valentino

Katie Valentino, MHS, CPRS, is an accomplished Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee since February 2016, where Katie co-created "The Elephant in the Room," a widely requested training for case managers on addressing substance use disorders. Prior experience includes roles as a Community Outreach Specialist and Alumni Coordinator at Focus Treatment Centers, where Katie launched the Eating Disorders Professional Roundtable and developed the peer-based recovery community "Living in Focus." Katie's extensive background in management began with positions at Marriott International and Starbucks, where achievements included the creation of new training programs and significant revenue growth. Educated with a Master of Science in Human Services from East Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration/Management from Florida International University, Katie combines professional expertise with a strong commitment to community service and patient advocacy.
