Robin Young

SVP, Operations, & Chief Marketing Officer at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee

Robin Young is the senior vice president of operations and chief marketing officer for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, which has more than 6,000 employees and serves more than 3.4 million members in the state and across the country.

In this role, Young is responsible for strategic operations and service delivery for all commercial lines of business. Her oversight includes sales and account management, group underwriting, group and member customer service, membership administration, claims administration, BlueCard operations, stop loss and commercial financial management.

Prior to her current role, she was vice president of commercial finance and chief underwriter. This included developing strategies to assist underwriting and sales and account management staff. She also had oversight of financial analysis for the company’s commercial lines of business.

Young joined BlueCross in 1984. She’s previously also served as director of group underwriting where she led teams in medical and financial underwriting for small group, intermediate, large group, major accounts and stop loss.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in marketing.
