Sean S. Costigan PhD is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in cybersecurity and related fields. Currently serving as Operating Partner at Bluedge Ventures since April 2025, Costigan specializes in investments in next-generation cybersecurity and AI solutions. As a Professor at the George C. Marshall Center since October 2016, Costigan educates on topics of global cybersecurity and hybrid warfare. In addition, Costigan acts as a Senior Advisor for the Emerging Security Challenges Working Group with the Partnership for Peace Consortium, directing an international team of experts in cybersecurity. Teaching roles include a University Lecturer position at The New School and previous positions at IllustroTech and Red Sift, where strategic cybersecurity policies were developed. Costigan also has a background as Chief Technology Officer at MIT Press, contributing to cognitive science research. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Portsmouth and an AM from Harvard University.
