Daniel Zhen is a Research Associate 1 at Blue Nalu, contributing to the development of cell-cultured seafood aimed at sustainability. Prior experience includes serving as a Laboratory Technician at Algenesis Materials, focusing on biodegradable materials to combat plastic pollution, and conducting interdisciplinary research as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, emphasizing benthic ecosystems. Additionally, Daniel has held a teaching assistant role at UC San Diego for a Marine Biology course and worked as a Retail Sales Manager and Professional Makeup Artist at MAC Cosmetics. Volunteering at Waikiki Aquarium allowed for hands-on experience in tank management and animal biology. Daniel Zhen holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from UC San Diego, along with studies in Coral Reef Ecology from the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
