Jackson Colpitts

Research Associate I at BlueNalu

Jackson is new to BlueNalu and the San Diego area in 2021. Most recently he could be found in the Pilot Plant at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, where he worked on scale-up and optimization of upstream processes for a variety of life-saving biopharmaceutical products. He is excited to bring his experience with pilot-scale bioprocessing to the BlueNalu team and work on the first bioreactors to mass-produce cell-based seafood.

Originally from Northern California, Jackson received his B.S. in Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara in 2019. There, his lifelong love for science was tied to a passion for sustainability, particularly in our food and water supplies. By joining BlueNalu, helping to provide a supply of nutritious seafood with no direct impact on ocean ecosystems is his top priority.

In his free time, Jackson enjoys hiking and biking, exploring the natural beauty of his new hometown of San Diego. If you aren't careful he will occasionally geek out about music or baseball.
