Paul Palmer has extensive work experience in the information security and software development fields. Paul has held various positions throughout their career, starting with their role as a Software Engineer at Internet Security Systems from 1999 to 2002. There, they introduced innovative development processes that allowed the company to deliver critical software updates efficiently and protect customers from emerging security threats.

From 2002 to 2006, Paul served as an Engineering Manager at Internet Security Systems, responsible for the development of the company's core intrusion prevention module. Paul was recognized for their contribution to numerous sales and customer engagement efforts.

In 2006, Paul joined IBM Internet Security Systems and continued their role as an Operations Manager. Paul also served as a Director, leading several teams in project management, lab management, and engineering automation. During their time in this role, they improved schedule reliability, reduced development expenses, and managed engineering infrastructure.

In 2008, Paul transitioned to IBM Tivoli Software as a Senior Technical Staff Member, working as a Product Portfolio Architect. Paul held this position until 2010.

From 2010 to 2012, Paul worked as the Director of Architecture at Damballa, Inc. Paul grew and led a hybrid development team and integrated cloud computing components into the company's overall architecture.

Paul joined Ventyx, an ABB Company, in 2012 as the Director of Software Development. In this role, they built Agile/Scrum teams and led the integration of big data, security, and master data management technologies into existing products.

In 2014, Paul joined Ionic Security as a Software Product Development Generalist, a role they held until 2018.

In 2018, Paul took on the position of Chief Information Security Officer at both NetCentriX Inc. and BluePenguin Payments. At BluePenguin Payments, they delivered a PCI-compliant solution for a FinTech start-up and provided technical risk and security advice to the business.

Paul Palmer earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they attended from 1981 to 1987.
