Mohammed Ali Akbar has worked in the software engineering and development field since 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as Lead of Development Team at AH Computer Consulting, Inc. During this time, they managed a team of 15 Java developers and designed and established standard system/software engineering processes for the highest level CMMI appraisal. Mohammed Ali also lead the organization to achieve CMMI appraisal level 3. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Upstream Works Software as a Senior Software Engineer, where they supervised the QA Team to ensure highest standard of quality and worked on various phases of the software development life cycle. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Blueprint Software Systems as a Software Development Manager R&D, where they guided team development efforts and provided technical leadership to teammates. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have worked at Centennial College as a Professor at the Engineering Technology & Applied Science (SETAS) IT & Computer Department.

Mohammed Ali Akbar obtained a Master of Software Engineering from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2007 and a B.S in Computer Science from the same institution in 2004. In 2008, they obtained a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) certification from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2015, they obtained an Agile Software Development Training certification from Berteig Consulting Inc.
