UX Software Engineer, Lead at Blueprint Technologies

Brian Garland has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Brian began their career as a Web Design & Marketing Consultant at Cupcake Mission in 2009, where they were responsible for designing and implementing websites, SEO, YouTube video productions, and grassroots marketing. Brian then worked as an Associate Producer/New Media Developer at Tocrok Productions, where they developed new media projects and served as an associate producer. From 2010 to 2011, Brian worked at Lighthouse Document Technologies as an IQC Specialist.

In 2011, they joined Amazon as a Digital Media Ingestion Specialist on a contract basis, and in 2012, they worked with The Seattle Times as a Digital Customer Service representative. Brian also has experience as a Web Developer at Adaptive Logix, where they helped develop dynamic sites using efelle's proprietary FusionCMS. Brian managed the front-end team and optimized the front-end work on the system.

In 2017, Brian worked as a Senior Web Application Developer at LoveYourCRM, where they organized and managed web application projects for clients. Brian also collaborated on front-end websites and customized the Laravel framework to provide a custom CRUD admin interface.

Brian then joined Microsoft (Aquent Contract) in 2018 as a UX Engineer, where they contributed to a React framework, assisted in issue triage, and facilitated the implementation of a design/dev/testing email pipeline to improve product quality. Currently, Brian is working as a UX Software Engineer, Lead at Blueprint Technologies, where they are responsible for designing and building the UI/UX of a customer-facing data visualization and intelligence application.

Throughout their career, Brian has gained expertise in various technologies and frameworks, including React, TypeScript, C#, and Laravel. Brian has demonstrated a strong focus on delivering quality products and has experience working on large-scale tech projects and leading teams.

Brian Garland attended Southern Methodist University from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema/Television & Computer Engineering.
