Matthew Coghlan

Vice President, Corporate Finance And Strategy at BlueScope

Matthew Coghlan has a strong background in finance and strategy, with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Matthew began their career at KPMG Melbourne as an Audit Supervisor/Assistant in 1993 and then worked at KPMG London as a Manager from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, Coghlan joined Deloitte as an Associate Director/Manager in Corporate Finance and stayed there until 2001. Matthew later joined BlueScope, where they held multiple roles including Senior Business Analyst/Manager in Commercial and Corporate Finance from 2002 to 2004, Western Region Finance Manager for Butler Manufacturing from 2005 to 2007, and VP Finance-China from 2007 to 2010. Coghlan then served as Vice President of Commercial and Corporate Finance from 2010 to 2012 before becoming CFO of Coated Products, a joint venture with Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC), where they were responsible for all financial aspects of the business. In 2015, they were promoted to Vice President of Corporate Finance and Strategy at BlueScope.

Matthew Coghlan attended the University of Melbourne from 1989 to 1992, where they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance.
