Rhys Ovenden

Rhys Ovenden is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering. Beginning a career at Hyundai Motor Company Australia as a National Service Engineer from 1999 to 2001, Rhys then served as a Design Engineer at Oldfields Access Pty Ltd before taking on the role of Group Leader - Transmissions at Ford Motor Company from 2002 to 2004. Following this, a position as Maintenance Engineer at PaperlinX lasted from October 2004 to October 2005. Since November 2005, Rhys has held various roles at BlueScope, including Engineering Team Lead, Senior Mechanical Projects Engineer, and currently, Principal Mechanical Engineer. Rhys holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong, completed in 1999, and attended Kiama High School from 1989 to 1994.
