Joel Pazhayampallil has a diverse work experience in the field of self-driving cars. Joel is currently the CEO of BlueSpace.ai since April 2019. Prior to this, they were the Co-founder of drive.ai, where they built the brain of the self-driving car and grew the team to over 200 people. Joel worked at drive.ai from April 2015 to February 2019. Before that, they were a Research Intern at Nissan Motor Corporation from June 2014 to August 2014. Joel also worked as an Associate Software Engineer at General Motors from July 2011 to May 2013, where they contributed to the development of the Super Cruise freeway autonomy feature. Joel played a key role in advancing the project from research to public freeway demonstrations and deploying it in production on the 2018 Cadillac CT6. Prior to General Motors, Joel worked at Carnegie Mellon University as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow from January 2011 to May 2011 and as a Computing Services Consultant from September 2008 to May 2011.
Joel Pazhayampallil completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University from 2008 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University between 2013 and 2015. Before their higher education, Joel attended Bronx Science, though specific dates or degrees obtained are missing.
