Gemma Modra is an experienced financial and operational leader, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Bluewaters Power since October 2022. With a strong background in commercial and financial risk management, Gemma held the position of General Manager Commercial and Financial Risk at Summit Southern Cross Power from December 2019 to August 2023, while also serving as Finance Manager at both Summit Southern Cross Power and Infinite Energy during overlapping periods. Prior to these roles, Gemma gained extensive experience at KPMG Australia, progressing to Senior Manager over a tenure that lasted from March 2003 to December 2019. Gemma holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance, and Business Law from The University of Western Australia, completed between 2000 and 2002.

Built in 2009, 4.5km northeast of Collie, Bluewaters Power Station consists of two 217MW units and runs on sub-bituminous coal. As the newest coal-fired power station in Western Australia, it is efficient with low emissions. On average, we supply over 15% of the electricity in the South West interconnected System.
