Roy advises Blumberg Capital by evaluating the artificial intelligence capabilities of startups.
In doing this, he draws on his experience in data science and in developing business strategies. He helped design New York University’s Center for Data Science, a research and teaching center for artificial intelligence and big data. Subsequently, he served as the Center’s first Managing Director, building the organization from a standing start to graduating about 300 master’s students. He took the lead in designing many of the required courses. Prior to helping NYU with its Center for Data Science, he gained experience in leverage information technology investments in his roles at Chief Technology Officer at Capital One and Reuters.
Roy was a partner at the Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on leveraging information technology in business strategies.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University, where he wrote a dissertation in machine learning. He graduated cum laude with an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Vanderbilt University awarded him a BA in Mathematics.
He lives in Miami, Florida.
