Babak Asghari

Babak Asghari has worked in various roles since 2005. Babak began their career as a Researcher at the Real-Time Experimental Laboratory at the University of Alberta in 2005. Babak then moved to NEC Laboratories America, Inc. in 2011, where they worked as a Senior Researcher and Researcher until 2017. In 2017, they took on the role of Visiting Research Fellow at the Engineering Department of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad-FUM. In 2018, they were hired as Senior Technical Lead at Doosan GridTech. In 2020, they became a Senior Data Scientist at Stem, Inc. and will be a Senior Smart Grid AI Engineer at BluWave-ai starting in 2022.

Babak Asghari obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Alberta between 2005 and 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sharif University of Technology between 2002 and 2005. Babak also has a number of certifications from Coursera, including Algorithmic Toolbox and Data Structures (obtained in October 2019), Applied Data Science with Python Specialization (obtained in July 2018), Machine Learning (obtained in March 2018), Deep Learning Specialization (obtained in February 2018), and Managing an Agile Team (obtained in February 2017).
