Barry Whyte

Barry Whyte is an experienced application scientist and science writer currently at BMG LABTECH since October 2022. Previously, Barry served as a consultant for Consort Partners and Accdon, LLC, focusing on strategic communications and science editing, respectively. Key leadership roles include Vice President for Communications and Public Relations at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where Barry managed large teams and communications strategies. As Head of Public Relations and Communications for the European Molecular Biology Organization, Barry oversaw major communication initiatives within the life sciences sector. With a PhD and BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol, Barry has extensive expertise in public health editing from tenure at the World Health Organization and consulting for biotechnology companies.
