Thomas Karlsson has extensive work experience in various roles within the sales and engineering field. Thomas started their career in 1985 as a Konstruktör at ÅF AB, where they worked until 1989. Thomas then joined Semcon as a Konstruktör until 1992. Thomas then joined MacGregor and held roles such as Sales Engineer / Project Manager from 1992 to 1998, and later became an Area Sales Manager from 1998 to 2002. In 2002, they joined BMH Technology AB and held multiple roles including Sales Engineer from 2002 to 2008, Sales Manager from 2009 to 2011, and currently serves as the Managing Director since November 2011. In their current role, they are responsible for planning, managing, and reporting the company's sales and service activities in the Scandinavian region, and they also actively participates in sales and operational proceedings.

Thomas Karlsson has a diverse education history. In 1981, they attended Wenströmska Gymnasiet and completed their Gymnasieingenjör (technical high school) degree in Maskinteknik (mechanical engineering) in 1985. Thomas furthered their education in sales training at Gustav Käser Training International in Germany in 1999. In 2000, they pursued Affärsförhandling (business negotiation) at Mercuri International. In 2010, Thomas Karlsson focused on Offentlig upphandling (public procurement) at Allego. Lastly, in 2012, they attended MGruppen and completed the Chef och Ledarskapsprogrammet (Chef and Leadership Program).
