James Baker

James Baker is an Associate at BNIM, focusing on business development for housing, municipal, and community sectors, and currently managing a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) project with 49 mixed-income units. Previously, experience includes serving as an Academic Tutor for University of Kansas Athletics, assisting student athletes in study skills and tutoring in Spanish and African American Studies, as well as working as a Conversation Leader at the Applied English Center to support international students. Additional roles encompass writing and researching for an exhibit at the Kansas City Public Library, interpreting for Spanish-speaking individuals at Shawnee Mission School District, and various positions in event planning and management in the entertainment and dining sectors. James Baker holds a Master's Degree in African-American/Black Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish & Portuguese with a focus on Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas.
