Marion Whitaker has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

From 2019 to the present, Whitaker has been working as a Program Manager at BNL, Inc. In this role, they manage a group of Labor Relations Specialists and Attorneys, providing advisory and legal support services to the Office of Human Resources at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, U.S. Department of the Treasury. They are also involved in negotiating collective bargaining agreements with unions.

Prior to this, from 2015 to 2019, Whitaker worked as a Senior Labor Relations Consultant in a self-employed capacity. During this time, they utilized their expertise and experience to provide labor relations consulting services.

From 2017 to 2019, Whitaker worked at Black Hills Energy as an FERC Regulatory Manager. In this role, they were responsible for rate recovery of the company's transmission assets in several states, managing regulatory and transmission projects, and maintaining a good regulatory relationship with federal and state regulators. They were also involved in negotiating terms for the company to join a regional transmission organization.

In 2016, Whitaker worked as a Senior Project Manager/Resource Manager at TEKsystems. They oversaw several IT enterprise software projects and managed resource allocations for WellStar Health System.

From 1997 to 2015, Whitaker worked at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as a GS-15 Supervisory Energy Industry Analyst. They managed and provided technical direction to regulatory project managers and ensured adherence to timelines for deliverables within electric rate and tariff proceedings.

In 2008, Whitaker briefly worked as a GS-13 Labor Relations Specialist at the National Labor Relations Board. They represented the Board in negotiations with unions and implemented HR programs and policies.

From 2003 to 2008, Whitaker served as the Union President for the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO, Local 421 at the FERC. They represented over 1000 bargaining unit employees and negotiated important provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Marion Whitaker earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science from the University of the District of Columbia. Marion completed their undergraduate studies from 1991 to 1996. They also obtained two additional certifications, namely Certification in the Essentials of Project Management from Villanova University in April 2016, and Certification in Human Resources Program Management from Villanova University in June 2008.
