Bernard Sapala

Bernard Sapala has a strong work experience in the banking industry. Bernard started their career as a Manager at PKO Bank Polski in 1998 and worked there until 2001. From 2001 to 2007, Bernard worked at DZ BANK as the Head of Market & Operational Risk, where they were responsible for Market Risk and Operational Risk Management. Bernard also served as a Project Manager for the Basel II project. Since 2007, Bernard has been with BNP Paribas Bank Polska, initially as the Director of Financial and Counterparty Risk Division, and currently as the Integrated Risk Management Line, Managing Director.

Bernard Sapala holds a PMD degree from IESE Business School, obtained in 2020. Before that, they pursued PhD Studies at SGH Warsaw School of Economics from 2003 to 2006. Bernard also completed an MBA program from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Warsaw joint program from 1997 to 1999. Their undergraduate degree is a Master of Science (MS) in Economics/Econometrics from the University of Lodz, earned between 1993 and 1997. Additionally, Bernard obtained a certification as an EFFAS Environmental Social and Governance Analyst (CESGA®) from EFFAS - The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies in 2021.
