Dermot McDonough is the Chief Financial Officer of BNY Mellon and a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

As CFO, he is responsible for BNY Mellon’s global financial strategy and finance functions, including controllership, line of business CFO teams, treasury, capital and investment portfolio management, tax, corporate development, and investor relations.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2022, Dermot was with Goldman Sachs for over 25 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for the EMEA region and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs International Bank. He was a member of Goldman Sachs' Firmwide Risk Committee, Firmwide Asset Liability Committee and European Management Committee. Earlier, he was the firm's International Controller.

Dermot serves on the Board of Directors of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit that advocates for human rights issues globally, and he is a trustee of the Lewis Pugh Foundation, which works for the preservation and conservation of our oceans for a peaceful and sustainable future. He holds a bachelor of business studies degree from the University of Limerick.
