Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson has held various engineering roles since 2017. In that year, they were the Founder of Lokan LLC and the Head of Engineering at Boatrax. In 2019, they became an Engineering Consultant at SunVessel Corp. and a Department of Energy Fellow - Graduate Research Assistant at Florida International University - College of Engineering & Computing. Michael conducted research on behalf of the US Department of Energy at FIU's Applied Research Center (ARC) and wrote their master's thesis on Structural Health Monitoring of Pipelines in Radioactive Environments Through Acoustic Sensing and Machine Learning. Additionally, in 2017 they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Mark Two Engineering, where they were trained in the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and actively kept and updated an engineering notebook to record scientific studies. In 2020, they became a Graduate Research Intern at Idaho National Laboratory.

Michael Thompson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Florida International University - College of Engineering & Computing between 2012 and 2018. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution, which they completed in 2020.
