Dorothy Poppe serves as the Executive Director of the Bobby Jones Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation since December 2007, focusing on fundraising and public relations to promote awareness and education about Chiari malformation and syringomyelia. Additionally, Dorothy Poppe has directed the St. Clare Dance Program in Staten Island, providing various dance classes for all ages since September 1988. Past roles include National Development Director for the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project and committee member for the Great Kills Memorial Day Parade. Dorothy Poppe holds a BA from New York University in the Gallatin Division and a diploma in Dance from The Juilliard School.

The mission of the Bobby Jones Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation (Bobby Jones CSF) is to advance knowledge through research, and to educate the medical, allied sciences and lay community about Chiari malformation (CM), syringomyelia (SM) and related disorders. Bobby Jones CSF works on a local, national and international scale to deliver programs that advance education and awareness about these poorly understood conditions.
